Castle Cary is the closest train station to us, just 10 miles / a 20 minute drive. Taxis from Castle Cary are available, but buses are not that easy. There is one bus that takes you from Castle Cary rail station to Shepton Mallet – then go by taxi to Greenacres.
Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa stations are the alternatives. There are frequent bus routes to the local towns in all cases – details below, but the final 3 or 4 miles to Greenacres will need to be by taxi, because there are no buses serving North Wootton itself.
Bath Spa Train – walk across the road to Bath Bus Station (<5 mins). First Bus service 173 every hour from 09:05 to Wells Bus Station, then taxi to Greenacres.
Bristol Temple Meads Train – First Bus service 376 from outside the station every 30 mins (from 09:00) to Wells Bus Station (50 mins), then taxi to Greenacres.
The returning service is 377. Sundays and public holidays an hourly service operates.

Cycling is a great way to reach the campsite. We’re just off National Cycle Route No 3 and a popular stopping-off point for many cyclists on route from John-o-Groats to Lands End.
Our surrounding area offers something for every cycling taste. To the south we have the Somerset Levels, very flat and very easy by bike, where 50 mile cruising days on quiet country lanes are not uncommon. For the more adventurous, to the north lies the challenge of the Mendip Hills, with famous landmarks such as Cheddar Gorge and Burrington Coombe.
