We are always delighted to hear that people have enjoyed their stay and we'd like to share their opinions with you...

"I just wanted to say what a fantastic time we had at Greenacres! When I made the booking I was looking for a quiet, beautiful spot and being a family campsite I wasn't sure how quiet it would be, but it was absolutely perfect! I was so pleased as we've had a few bad experiences in the past (with rude and noisy neighbours!!) and this was my final chance to prove to my husband what a fun and relaxing time can be spent camping. Needless to say his faith in camping has been rekindled and we had a lovely few days away. Many thanks again. I'm sure that we will be returning in the not-too-distant future." (Kate and Tim Holleyman - July 2013)

"Greenacres made for a wonderful first family camping trip, for the adults as well as our 4 year old daughter!!! Nice to see a family business that truly was a full family affair, the whole family was so friendly and helpful thank you to you all!!! This campsite gets top marks from us for being clean and tidy. Have read some reviews saying there are not enough showers but we did not experience any problem with availability of the showers. If the showers are lacking in numbers they make up for it in shower power!!! The site was central to all we wanted to see and visit....wookey hole, cheddar gorge, longleat safari park, glastonbury, and loads more. Would certainly visit this site again 10/10" (Louise and Nick Calvert - July 2013)

"Just a quick note to say what a wonderful time we had at Greenacres.  The setup was perfect for my 3 year old - good line of sight to the play area from our pitch which meant she could run off "like a big girl" but still be under my watchful eye.  Facilities spotless and provided everything that was needed - without being 'sterile'.  Nice touch with the fridges and freezers.  And spot on with warm croissants and fresh milk on the Sunday morning.  We'll definitely be back." (Samantha Flowers - June 2013)

"I just wanted to say thanks for the excellent weekend we just had on your campsite. the facilities are brilliant and we had a great time. we'll be back again soon for sure." (Simon Henry, April 2013)

"I would just like to say a big thank you from me and my son. The greeting was very friendly and the site was superb. As soon as we de-canted the car my son was off finding out where everything was and that was it - playing for the rest of the afternoon with the other kids - back to basics and he loved it. The facilities were just right, clean, tidy and the community fridge was very handy - great idea. Everyone one we saw was having a great time and the cider was very tasty, keep it up and we will be back - thank you both -we had a great time." (Steve Hartshorn - Aug 2012)

"We were really impressed by the friendly welcome and then the generous size of the pitch itself. The layout  with the tents around the edge of the field was perfect for us to allow the children to run around whilst we could still keep an eye. The toilet, shower, washing up, fridge & freezer facilities were clean, well maintained and user friendly. The children enjoyed the play area and the Lazee Dayzee activities. We all enjoyed the bike ride with the tandem and trailer. The convenience of the shop and butcher mobile delivery service was a bonus too. It's a lovely part of the world which we didn't explore that much this time, but could see there is lots to do and see in the area. Thank you both so much for always being so friendly and approachable and going out of your way to help us. We would definitely highly recommend you to others and look forward to coming back in the future." (Nicki Datta - Aug 2012)

"We had a lovely weekend.  It is such a beautiful spot and the children loved the animals.  You were very kind throughout so thank you again." (Rami & Tracy Ghali - Jun 2012)

"Just to say a BIG thank you for the wonderful show (Easter Egg Hunt) you put on for all your guests on the Easter holiday. Our little girl thought it was truly magnificent. The campsite was great, we felt so lucky to have found such a lovely place for children & parents on our first adventure camping. So thank you all very much for a great holiday." (Jamie & Steph Hearn - Easter 2012)

"The site is everything that it shoud be without being over the top.  Good clean facilities and the friendly welcome means that we will be back in the future.  We particularly liked the wandering chickens in the morning! (Andy and Lois Mullins - Sept 2011)

"We just wanted to say a big thank you for a wonderful weekend’s camping.  Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their stay - especially the kids - and we will definitely come again." (Mr D.Carr - May 2011)

"I just wanted to let you know that my family and I had a great time staying at your campsite last week.  There was such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere at all times. It's a great campsite and the children absolutely loved playing there.  The facilities are excellent and the food that comes round in the mornings is really tasty!! We will definitely be coming back to stay with you again - on a regular basis!" (K. Kaur-Bhamra - Aug 2010)

Wanted to write a review about this place as we loved it so much but the previous reviewer has pretty much summed it up. So ditto!

There may have been better pitches, but we thought ours was perfect! Everyone pitches around the edge of the field, and we had space for our 10 man tent and car, with room to spare. There also was sufficient shelter from the hedge and canopy of trees that we could still cook outside on the rainy days. We weren't lucky enough to hire a fire-pit, but it was lovely to see the fires dotted around the site. Both our boys made friends on the first day, and we sat and contentedly watched them play in the centre of the field, and we were delighted when at evening-time, the owners came across to the field and asked "anyone for rounders?" Whether they were playing ball games in the centre of the field, or using the play area, we could have eyes on them.

We only left the site on one day, to visit Glastonbury Abbey, but were perfectly content with staying put the rest of the time. There is a mobile shop that drives round the field morning and evening, and the onsite shop sells wood, ice creams and essentials. The owners are hard-working, constantly seen attending to matters on site, but always with a friendly nod and "hello" to whichever camper passes their path. The showers are definitely on the small side, but we managed. Importantly, they - along with the toilets - are clean.

Although the rules ask for quiet between 11pm - 7am, we found the site quietened down around half nine / ten o'clock. This site is perfect for an easy going, family camping break. We will certainly return - I suppose that's the best recommendation really!

Excellent, family-friendly camp site (no caravans) in beautiful countryside. Loads of play space for traditional family time, with play equipment and play houses for younger children. Spotless shower & WC block, free use of fridges and very helpful owners. Lots to see and do nearby - in short, brilliant!

"Just back from another lovely trip to Greenacres. Even though it was bank hol, it was not hellish busy as, unlike everywhere else, it doesn't cram more people in to every patch of grass!.  All the pitches are on the edge of the field leaving the middle for playing, bike riding etc. Facilities fine, I only had a small wait for showers, even when the site was full and it was all cleaned regularly. They had the 'Lazy daisy' crew there whilst we stayed doing hair wraps and face paints and crafts which was great (small fee) and they had a lovely big bell tent to relax in whilst your children were being painted. Love this site and would highly recommend it."

"Green Acres was superb and we could not have asked for a better site. The owners are friendly and very helpful and the site is fantastic. The main field is huge with only 40 good sized pitches and everyone is there for the same reason (to let kids enjoy themselves). We originally booked for 3 nights but ended extending this for another 2 nights. You need to drive to go to the main shops but the village shops visits every morning and evening (with the best steaks I have tasted)."

"This was our second visit to this great little site, and won't be our last. Big field, big pitches, great location, and the owners Duncan and Mary are lovely. If you have young children you must try this site, plenty of room for them to run around and get exhausted!.The fridges and freezers are free to use and there is a microwave for heating and sterilizing baby's bottles. Another great thing is that unlike other sites the prices do not increase for the summer holidays so its brilliant value for money too."

"I cannot fault the way that it is operated at all. It is well organised and has a few extra things which you are surprised are there, and then add to your experience and stay. We loved the bike hire - its so flat around this site, and quiet lanes, we took advantage of this service and enjoyed a lovely afternoon 'out & about'. The site is kept immaculate. Would definitely return to this site and definitely recommend it to my best friend!"

"We cannot recommend this site enough for families. The tents are situated around a spacious field. Pitches are very generous. Along one side is a play area visible from the surrounding tents. Our children (5 and 8) could play 'independently' while we watched from afar. There is an area with fridges and freezers for communal use which is a fab addition. Duncan, Mary and their daughter are all so welcoming and will help with anything. It is a drive to Glastonbury (we visited the Abbey and climbed the Tor), Street (we bought new sleeping bags at the outlet village), Shepton Mallet (Kilver Court Gardens is an oasis) and Wells (beautiful cathedral and Bishop's Palace). As a mum, I couldn't have asked for more from a simple, spacious, safe site with no clubs or loud music or gimmicks."

"We simply love this site. It is so peaceful and relaxing. We've been twice, on the first May bank holiday this year and last. Our three children (aged 2,4 and 6 yrs) think it's wonderful. The pitches are huge and would accommodate any size tent easily and still feel spacious. Loads of room for car, tent, tables, chairs and toys. No fires allowed but off the ground BBQ's are so we sat round the BBQ in the evening - it was chilly! We didn't mind the basic facilities - there are spotless loos, sinks, showers and plenty of piping hot water. Layout of this site is perfect with a large field, tents around the outside, grass play area in the middle and smaller children's play area opposite the tents so you can keep an eye on them playing whilst sitting in comfort! There are 2 play houses which the children practically lived in.
There is a lovely feeling about Greenacres - I think that's down to the lovely owners. Once you have paid for your pitch, that's it; free showers, free fridge and freezer space, books to borrow and loads of information about local places to visit. It's fab. I'd recommend it to anyone especially if you have young children."
